If you’re a fan of action thrillers like I am, you’re probably looking forward to the latest Scot Harvath novel by Brad Thor, Edge of Honor – out today. Brad never fails to entertain, and judging by the early reviews this is the best Harvath book yet. This time Harvath is fighting a threat from within, a conspiracy that reaches to the highest levels of the American government. Edge of Honor is not to be missed!
ThrillerFest 2025 Recap
I had a terrific time at ThrillerFest in New York City. Caught up with readers, aspiring writers, editors, and agents. I also enjoyed spending time with my fellow authors. Here I’m with Simon Gervais, who’s next installment in the terrific Elias series, Elias Enigma, is available next week.
June Book Deal!
On June 2nd only, The Perfect Assassin will be featured in a Kindle Popular Reads promotion. If you haven’t read my first novel, and the introduction to the David Slaton series, there won’t be a better chance!
Christine Palmer, a young American doctor sailing solo across the Atlantic, makes an incredible discovery—a man narrowly clinging to his life in the frigid waters. But there is much more to this desperate survivor than meets the eye.
David Slaton is a Kidon—a highly-trained and dangerous assassin. Yet the Kidon is both the hunter and the hunted, and soon he and Christine are in grave danger. Can they win in a race against time?
Thrillerfest 2025
Thrillerfest in New York City is right around the corner, and I’ll attend from Jun 19-21. I’ll be taking part in a panel discussion on Saturday morning at 8:00. Hope to see a lot of thriller readers (and writers) in attendance.
More Tremendous Reviews Of DARK VECTOR!
Dark Vector is flying high. Readers have been highly enthusiastic about this new angle on my David Slaton series. The perfect assassin is taking on a protégé, young Tru Miller.
When an experimental Russian aircraft goes missing in Siberia, the result of an attempted defection, Miller is in the right place at the right time. He’s sent deep into the frigid Russian wilderness to rescue the pilot.
For those who’ve read Dark Vector a review is always appreciated. If you haven’t had the chance to, check out Dark Vector.
Ward Recommends: THE DAY OF THE JACKAL
I have to admit, I had reservations about the concept of this series. The novel The Day of the Jackal, by Frederick Forsyth, is one of the most iconic thrillers of all time, and its unique plot is rooted in the 1960’s. This television series is a contemporary update, and in my opinion the authors pulled it off as well as they could have. Certain plot element have changed, but there are scenes that draw heavily from both the book, and also the original film version starring Edward Fox. The supporting characters are also solid. With another season in the works, it will be interesting to see where the writers take this highly stylistic adaptation.
Thank You For The Great Reviews Of DARK VECTOR!
I’d like to thank so many readers who’ve provided feedback on Dark Vector. The addition of Tru Miller to David Slaton’s universe has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, and more will be on the way.
If you’ve read Dark Vector, a review on Amazon or Goodreads would be greatly appreciated.
If you haven’t had the chance to, check out Dark Vector.
Upcoming Events
I’ll be attending two conferences this year. Thrillerfest takes place in New York City from June 19-21. It’s a great venue for meeting your favorite thriller writers, and particularly relevant for those who aspire to write. Bouchercon will be in New Orleans from September 4-6. It’s the publishing industry’s biggest event, and you can’t go wrong spending a few days in The Big Easy. I also have a very special appearance scheduled in New Orleans—stay tuned for more.
Ward Recommends: THE BILLION DOLLAR SPY
I recently listened to the audiobook version of The Billion Dollar Spy by David E. Hoffman. This is a non-fiction book that reads like a thriller, mostly relating to the recruitment and running of Russian spy Adolf Tolkachev at the height of the Cold War. Tolkachev was an engineer with access to vital secrets, and for years he operated right under the nose of the KGB. Much of the information he provided related to aircraft radar and air defenses, making it somewhat personal for me - as an Air Force pilot, the combat zones I flew in were safer thanks to Tolkachev.

For those who have read or listened to the book, a review is always helpful.
